Our aims and objectives

The “Dr. Ambavadekar’s Liability Illiterate Tutelary Society” society is an 'Educate-Agitate-Organize' Dalits Association. The society believes in equality of human beings irrespective of Caste, Creed, Religion, Region and Sex.

The objectives or the purpose for which the society is established are the following.

(a) To Organize Educational, Cultural Programmes and to provide Recreational and Procreation programmes and also to run Libraries, to print and distribute books, brochures for the literacy of the Tribal and Rural people.

(b) To initiate and organize Study, Survey, Medical, Technical and Scientific Educational Programmes and Educational Institutions of various nature with emphasis on all communities living in Tribal, Urban and Rural areas.

(c) To undertake Integrated Rural Developmental Activities any where and in any form such as construction of Buildings for Weaker sections and to undertake development of Sanitation, Irrigation, Agrarian, Roads, Rural Electrification, Health Care and Nutrition programmes, and provide shelter for the aged groups.

(d) To meet the needs of the uncared children of Agricultural and other Labourers through seasonal and open Sishu Kendras and Pragathi Patasalas.

(e) To undertake and promote Village and Cottage Industries, Small Scale Industries including Handicrafts, which generate Employment and Income opportunities for the livelihood of the poor.

(f) To undertake Relief and Rehabilitation programmes for the sick people with a particular emphasis on the diseases like Leprosy, T.B., H.I.V., Cancer, and other major diseases.

(g) To undertake programme for the Children – especially the street children, Blind children, mentally retarded children and other destitute and orphans.

(h) To undertake the Relief and Rehabilitation programmes for the neglected old age poor people.

(i) To organize Youth and Women Associations.

(j) To promote Health and Nutrition Programmes.

(k) To raise funds for the activities of the Association.

(l) To establish contacts with other organizations, National and International with similar objectives

and

(m) To undertake such other activities from time to time as shall be deemed necessary for the attainment of the objectives of the Association.
